I have been reading some stuff on parallel plate rheometer & cone and plate and have come up with the following doubts. I would really appreciate if someone could guide me with this.
Are Edge effects more prominent in Parallel Plates as compared to Cone and Plate? If so why? How does the accuracy of measurement of viscosity through parallel plate compare with the the measured value through cone and plate? what is the operating range of angular velocity as compared with cone & plate? to measure N2 from the difference of the measured normal stresses through Cone and Plate and Parallel Plate instruments, do we use the same Height difference? why do we talk of cylindrical interfaces in parallel plates and spherical interfaces in cone and plate? thanks a lot beginner |
