Type of pdes -- CFD Online Discussion Forums

ashtonJ Senior Member Ashkan Javadzadegan Join Date: Sep 2010 Posts: 255 Rep Power: 16	I read the classifications of PDES form Tannehill CFD book. But I couldn’t understand the physical concept of elliptic, parabolic and Hyperbolic equations; From mathematical point of view, it is simple to classify the PDES but I want to know how the type of PDES(parabolic, Hyperbolic or Elliptic) would affect the fluid behavior. I would be too pleased if anyone can help me.
