LES inlet length scale

Hello,
I am studying the LES of a turbulent jet. I would like to be able to estimate the length scale of the turbulence at the inlet. I can obvioiusly estimate the kolmogorov scale and also the integral scale (L), but i would expect the scale at the inlet to be somewhere between these. All i know from experimental data is the axial mean and RMS velocity profiles (about 5% intensity), and the diameter of the jet inlet (d). How can i estimate a good length scale (and time scale for that matter) for this case at the inlet? Thankyou for your help. |
