I'm a MSc student in mechanical engineering, i have the CFD course in this term.
plz tell me what's the definition of Dissipation & Dispersion, for example in Lax method for one dimensional model convection, diffusion equation?

This has been explained very nicely in "Computational Fluid Dynamics: The Basics with Applications - John David Anderson" or any good book on CFD will have an explanation for this.
