Hi all!
First post here, so I'm bound to make mistakes, please inform me so I can update the post. I am doing my master's thesis involving CHT analysis on a shell-and-tube U-tube heat exchanger and am stuck on the meshing process. I am using the open source program Salome for meshing, and I only have access to Open source programs for this project. The model can be found here: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/03...a1b4f5594c73d6 Salome only has access to single-thread meshing, which makes this process very time consuming. I have tried to separately mesh these three regions, and only the "tube" side has proved to work in Salome, the other ones just halt at 0% or take 24h to advance to 3%. Tube-side ended up at 10 million cells, and I'm estimating that the full mesh will be around >50 million. The mesh is then going to pass through the "ideasUNVtoFoam" script and then be run in OpenFOAM. How do people go about meshing large structures? Any ideas and tips are very welcome, All the best, /Malcolm Akner |
