Pending solver tasks failing to start in FINE/Marine

I am an undergraduate student working on a project using FINE/Marine.

I am having problems with the flow solver failing to start. No errors are thrown. After clicking the "play" button to start my simulation, the task manager window appears, a few lines appear and the last message is:
"start_status_ok"
Then nothing happens.

Switching to the task manager view, under Task List, the simulation's task status appears as "running" and under task delay it shows "none".

Under task definition, all three of pre-processing, solver, and post-processing are "pending".

My current problem set-up involves a simple, narrow hull geometry that was generated using Autodesk Inventor and imported into HEXPRESS as a parasoloid (.x_t) model. I meshed using C-Wizard, roughly following the steps of a FINE/Marine tutorial, making some modifications as appropriate for our hull, which is only 8m long. This is a steady computation, with the hull body motion defined as "imposed" at 4 m/s.

I believe I have ruled out an installation/licensing problem, as I was able to run a simple tutorial (Marine tutorial 1 - driven cavity, with geometry built entirely in the HEXPRESS editor) without any issue.

Can anyone shed some light on what might be causing this problem?

Are you using a Windows or Linux version ?

It's Windows 7, 64 bit FINE/Marine version 3.1-3.

Hi,

Well sorry I'm not familiar with the Windows version. In the task manager there should be a button called "save batch file" or something like that. It should create an executable that will run the preprocessing and the solver. Try running that job this way and see what happens.

I advise you contact Numeca's tech support.

is that a parallel run?
I had the same problem in case of parallel run in Numeca.

This is a serial run.
