Difficulty re-loading finished computations

Hi there.
I have encountered a problem re-loading normal computations and Performance curve computations in the normal Fine Turbo module where computations are run from. The problem started when I ran the computations, but FINE/Turbo stopped working, while the computations (fortunately) carried on, until Euranus finished the computations. The computations that carried on while FINE/TURBO stopped and closed, does however not show up under the list of computations when I open the .iec file under which they were created. I would like to load them in FINE/TURBO again to be able to view the Convergence History (under Computation Steering) of the several parameters, like efficiency and inlet and outlet mass flow rate. Any suggestions and guidance would greatly be appreciated. Kind regards Marco |

Dear Marco,
sorry to hear that. Even if I have no solution yet I can provide you three workarounds to get the convergence history and other result data with little effort. 1. Another way than using the FINE/Turbo GUI is to use the "monitor". It is the white button located in the top bar of FINE/Turbo. In the monitor, you can add the needed computations with the "add" button. 2. Another option is to switch from the FINE/Turbo GUI to "Modules" (top bar) -> "Task Manager". In the top left corner you can select "Convergence History". With the "Select Computations" button you can add one ore more computations. Secondly, for example if you want to compare the inlet and outlet mass flow, you can multi-select the quantities in the top right area by clicking-and-holding the left mouse button while hovering over the quantities. Maybe interesting for your thesis: You can export the loaded curves to a .cvh file. These data you be can imported in excel for further post-processing. 3. The third option is to inspect the .mf file, which is located in each compution folder. This file is very useful and gives you a lot of information (global results and inlet and outlet, global results at the interface(s) for example). To get an even more detailed output you can set the expert parameter IWRIT=1. Finally it would be interesting, if the computations can still be found in the .iec file, you can open it with every text editor. I would recommend to search for the computation names. If they are still present you could try to save the project under a new name, please select "duplicate solution files", of course. As you found out it is possible to close the FINE/Turbo GUI while computations are running, they will be NOT be stopped. However, if the FINE/Turbo GUI crashes obviously you've got a problem. Kind regards, Holger |
