Hello Everyone
I faced some issue in running OF8 on different compilers, Intel2020 and GNU9.1 on HPC server. I am using XiFoam solver and have issues in the same. When I am running my case of OF8, XiFoam solver on HPC server and Intel2020 compiler then I am getting the expected pressure peak in my simulations, as there is reported in experimental results (first screenshot). But when I am running the exact same case of OF8, XiFoam solver on HPC and GNU9.1 compiler there appears to be no peak in the simulation (as can be seen in second screenshot attached here). While on my own system I am using OF8 only with GNU7.5.0 version and there I am getting correct results in the simulation. The HPC Team in my institute have tried their best to resolve the issue but was not able to find the source of this error. Kindly refer to the attached screenshots and do let me know whether anyone out there has faced similar issue? If yes then is there any solution to it. I also request the OpenFOAM team to look into this matter and provide me some insights upon it. Thanks a lot intelPlot.png GNUPlot.png |

I am getting same problem now on my local machine also, with OF8 and not OF10. Can anyone give any insight into this type of issue?
Is there anything that went wrong? |

I don't know if you are aware of this paper: https://arxiv.org/abs/1605.04339
... but your question reminded me of that one. Unfortunately, there's not more for me to add. Reproducible and replicable CFD: it's harder than you think Olivier Mesnard, Lorena A. Barba Completing a full replication study of our previously published findings on bluff-body aerodynamics was harder than we thought. Despite the fact that we have good reproducible-research practices, sharing our code and data openly. Here's what we learned from three years, four CFD codes and hundreds of runs. |
