@Zhifang: waves2Foam should compile, I just have not managed to make the solvers until now.
Kind regards, Niels

Hi, all,
I am trying to install waves2Foam on Ubuntu 14.04. After running the Allwmake command, I find there is a prompt about the solver compilation shown as below. Code:
===================================== COMPILE SOLVERS ===================================== ls: cannot access /FOAM/waves2Foam/applications/solvers/solvers320_EXT/*: No such file or directory Best Regards, Lee |

Hi Lee,
I have never come around to make the solvers for foam-extend-3.2. It is on my to-do list and I hope to soon resolve it. The libraries and utilities are ready for foam-extend-3.2. Kind regards, Niels

Hi Niels,
Thank you for your reply. Can waves2foam work properly without the solvers? I am not sure if I need to downgrade the foam-extend version, like foam-extend-3.1, since I find there exist a solver for this version in the solver file. Best Regards, Lee |

Yes, you definitely need the solver(s). The foam-extend-3.1 version is fully operational, but you might consider to create the solvers yourself for foam-extend-3.2 instead of downgrading. There are essentially just a few modifications required to the solver interFoam. Create waveFoam is easier than porousWaveFoam (more modifications).
Kind regards, Niels

I followed the instruction found at openfoamwiki about how to modify interFoam to waveFoam. However, I am still confusing about several steps.
1) The instruction said one should delete the lines starting #include "readGravitationalAcceleration.H" in createFields.H. But I cannot find this line in that file so I just ignore this change. Is there any problem with it? 2) I added -DOFVERSION=<Replace brackets with the first three digits in the OF-version number> \ in Make/options under EXE_INC. Since I am using the foam-extend-3.2, am I right to replace the content in the bracket with 320? 3) I copied the files which belong to interFoam within the foam-extend-3.2 folder into a new folder and made all the changes required by the instruction. What is the next step? Where should I put this new fold and do I need to run ./Allwmake again? Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it. Best Regards, Lee |

Hi Niels,
I am still struggling in these 3 modification steps. Do you have any idea about them? Any help is greatly appreciated! Best Regards, Lee |

Hi all,
I tired adding a constant wind speed for the air phase. I find the simulation result is quite weird as the wind speed only exists within the relaxation zone and is zero elsewhere. Does anyone know how the wind speed incorporate in the two-phase model and in what way it interacts with the free water surface? Best, Lee |
