I installed pvpython with the hope of being able to use fabulous pyFoam tools like pyFoamPVSnapshot.py.

If I open new terminal window and type:
Code:
pvpython --help
I receive the expected help print out.

However, if I open new terminal window and initialise OpenFOAM 2.4.0 shell environment first:
Code:
of240
pvpython --help
then I receive the error:
Code:
Executing PVSnapshot with pvpython through a proxy-script options:
Error: Return code -11 executing /tmp/pyFoamPVSnapshot_DuBCZd.py
How can I fix this? Does it have something to do with of240 environment variables?

––––––––––––––

Info: I am running OpenFOAM 2.4.0 and ParaView 4.1.0 on Ubuntu 16.04.

Does PyFoam still support 2.4?

Why do u still use such an old version? I was vitamin D in an apple when they've released 2.4.

Yes. I'm able to use pyFoam with OF240.

I use it because the modelling system I use was built on this, and I'm too scared to update for fear of breaking something.

Any thoughts on the original question?

OF240 was released in 2015. You didn't help at all, only offered incorrect, snarky comment.

Anyone want to address the original question?

Its engine is based on 2.x - which was first released in 2011 - and developed throughout 2010. What you don't understand is there is a reason why the version 3.0 was called 3.0, but not 2.5, as it underwent huge change.

Sorry, I should have not done that. But, you are right, unfortunately.. I'm sorry..
