Hi everyone,

I recently installed openFoam on my Windows 7 computer to get started on my masters studies. The installation itself was a pain, but now I'm going through the tutorial attached to the software with the cavity flow example and I'm having trouble with the "paraFoam" command.

I tried the commands stated in the message to 'reset' the plug ins, but that didn't change the situation at all, I kept getting the same message.

In an effort to fix this, I tried installing paraView 5.4.0 separately, but I guess it's not connected to openFoam in any way, nor does openFoam recognize it. I read a bunch of forum posts that recommended taking the .foam files and opening them in paraView manually, but I can't find the associated directory to actually manually open the .foam files.

The installation is a brand new one, on a Windows 7 64 bit computer. I have a virtual machine installed on this thing, but I can't get it to work, so I've been using Windows 7 for this exclusively (I know...I know....).

Any ideas? I'm at a dead end and have no idea where to go from here!

Regards,
Ethan

Hi
Note paraFoam is not supported via window installation . User need to install
separate paraview which can be downloaded from https://www.paraview.org/download/

Thanks

Hi,

It didn't want to work with me, so I ended up dual-installing Ubuntu in parallel with my Windows 7 installation.

I haven't resolved the issue, per se, but I was able to mitigate it.
