Hi all,

when I type the paraFoam option I get the message:

FATAL ERROR: The official reader module for OpenFOAM data does not exist on
your system. This means that the version of ParaView you are using was not
compiled with OpenFOAM, or distributed with a packaged version of OpenFOAM.

For information on packaged versions of OpenFOAM/ParaView and compilation of
OpenFOAM/ParaView, see https://openfoam.org/download

Alternatively, you might be able to view your OpenFOAM data with the reader
module provided with ParaView by running:
paraFoam -builtin

I have try to uninstall the OpenFoam version and reinstall, and also I have try to install paraview manually, but does not work. I am using OpenFoam-dev, with paraview 5.6 in an Ubuntu 18.4.3 LTS (bionic). Do you know what can I do?

Thanks!

Have you tried the command "paraFoam -builtin"? This command will fetch your system paraView and run it.

Can you open paraview by this command "paraview"? If yes than you can try adding following line to end of you ~/.bashrc file.

alias para='touch post.foam && paraview post.foam'

This will allow you to type para in terminal and will create post.foam file automatically if you don't have one already.
