Hi,

I tried to install 32bit openfoam 1.6 in my computer. I downloaded the software files (gt.gz extension files). I copied these files to "HOME/OpenFOAM/" and tried to extract the files. During extraction, I got this error. I could not understand how to solve this.

Could anybody give suggestions to install openfoam correctly?

I am not familiar with the Ubuntu environment, but the error message is an indication of corrupted download.
What down load manager are you using. If you browse the internet using firefox, use the downthemall plug in, observe the download speed, it is always varying and sometimes reaches zero, good download managers recover from such interruption, so you need to download again but using a download manager such as aria or downthemall

Hi Ahmed,

Thanks for your suggestion. Actually I downloaded linux 32 bit openfoam-1.6 from windows XP computer. I don't know that it may cause this issue. Once again I download and install Openfoam.

Yes. You are correct. It is the issue with downloading the package. I downloaded once again and installed successfully.
