Comments and questions are welcomed on the article Wagner et al, An OpenFOAM-based semi-partitioned fluid-structure-interaction solver for simple surface structures, OpenFOAM Journal, March 2022, https://doi.org/10.51560/ofj.v2.45.

Hello,
In the paper the equation of motion for the membrane are only valid for a plane surface. I've actually two questions: 1) I just wanted to ask if there are planes to present the equation of motion valid for arbitrarily curved surfaces? 2) From what I've found out so far, if we have a large curvature radius R compared to the thickness d of the membrane, the equation of motion are the same for a plane surface and a curved surface. Do you share the same opinion? Best Michael |
