Hi everyone,

I am new to the forums. I was curious where I could find an example mesh of the backward facing step problem (not Pitzdaily) in Polymesh format. In other words, is there a site that has example meshes generated in Polymesh format?

Thank you,
M Zera

Hi!

You can generate your own mesh with blockMesh pretty easily. You need only 3 blocks.

I don't know of any such website, but as Simrego pointed out, perhaps it is easiest to make one yourself. Most examples, tutorials, etc... you can find online whether they come from YouTube, blogs, etc... also come with the basic blockMeshDict and perhaps other meshing related files (examples: .stl surface files, surfaceFeatureExtractDict, snappyHexMeshDict, etc...) too, expecting that you know enough to be able to setup an OpenFOAM case and then run it.

For simple modifications, I would recommend taking the blockMesh file of the pitzDaily tutorial as a start and modify the mesh as you see fit. Also, it would make giving advice much easier if you could be more specific about what sort of mesh you want... For instance, is there a particular sort of mesh refinement you want that is different than the pitzDaily tutorial?
