Hi Foamers,

At the moment I am modelling wind flow around a building. In my test model I try to add layers to two different geometries. One represents the ground surface and one is a test geometry of a building. If I add layers (using snappyHexMesh) to both geometries, the transition in boundary layers is not very neat (see red circles in picture below). How could I improve this transition? I tried setting featureAngle to 180 degrees, but this did not improve the boundary layers. How could I further improve my mesh?

N.B. I like to seperate both .stl-files since I want to appoint different properties to the different geometries.

For completeness, I added my .stl-files and the necessary Dict-files.

I hope you can help me out.

Cheers,
Bas

It can help to use an isotropic background mesh.
Depending on the OF version you are using, you could manage this locally (using anisotropic splits for the given blockMesh with the ESI version) or if you are on the foundation version, you probably have to adjust the blockMesh spacing itself.
