hi,
I am trying to create a mesh around a city with intricate feature, thus, requiring refine mesh to capture the features correctly. The city area is 1km by 1km by 300m and I am facing problems with the mesh generation. The dilemma faced is between the number of mesh and accuracy of generated features. The terminal used has a 8Gb ram which limits the amount of mesh (defned via blockMesh) and surface refinement (generated via sHMD). Yet the max amount was not enough for the mesh to capture the features. *the max amount was determined by when the terminal crashes during generation* But as of yet, I am still unable to create a good mesh to capture the features. Anyone have any idea how to address this problem? Or any suggestions? And idea will be greatly appreciated. Here are some links related to the problems: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...er-snappy.html http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...t-surface.html |

How big do you imagine this mesh being when you're finished? 8GB of memory is pretty low.
