[snappyHexMesh] "word::stripInvalid() called for word" followed by weird characters

Hii,
Am trying to simulate the aerodynamics of truck in Openfoam,whenever am running the snappyhexMesh ,this error is coming Overall mesh bounding box : (-20 -16 -3) (40 16 18) Relative tolerance : 1e-07 Absolute matching distance : 7.116881e-06 word::stripInvalid() called for word ¿?O¹)^S$¸(<99>õÃ=Ã<9b>h¿^TÃ^H¾<99>õÃ=ëÃp¿ ó÷Ã%<99>õÃ=<94>i¿ÃNò½ Can anyone please tell me how to rectify this problem |

Quick answer: My best guess is that your STL file is in binary format instead of ascii format.
