Hello,
I have a domain of 300x1x200 cells containing a geometry (a greenhouse) in the center. The meshing itself works fine, but when performing a mesh check I get the error "Failed 1 Mesh Check". I think this might be important because later on (when solving the case - airflow from inlot to outlet over the greenhouse) I get "time step continuety errors" when solving for p. Does anyone has an idea where the mesh error might come frome? I attached the mesh check log as an .pdf. I'm quite new to OpenFoam. I modeled other cases before and never encountered this problem. |

Hi,
There must be a problem in your bc definition. Check that all your boundaries on the /y direction are set to empty, and that those on the /x and /z direction are defined. |

Hello,
thank you for your answer. I just checked: If I perform a mesh check directly after meshing, it says "meshing check ok". (all parts of the domain/geometry are defined as "walls"). The mesh check error starts to appear as soon as I define the boundary conditions of my y direction (front and back part of the domain) as "empty". At this time, all other parts of the domain/geometry are still defined as "walls". What could be the reason for this? My geometry of the greenhouse? I'm wondering why because this is how I usually defined all my other 2D cases - a depth in the y-direction of 1 cell and setting the front/back boundary as empty. P.S.: My geometry is 3D and actually larger than the domain in y-direction (like "sticking out" of the domain). Since I only want do solve the case in 2D I set y = 1 cell in the domain. Is this correct? Last edited by sdfij6354; June 28, 2017 at 12:59. |
