Hello all,

I am trying to create a refinement region (with structured mesh) inside a computational domain. I created the refinement region as a separate extrusion using gmsh and because of that I can see the internal faces (the interface between the refinement region and the outer computational domain) getting defined as defaultFaces when I convert the gmsh .msh file to OpenFOAM format. I tried a few ways to remove the defaultFaces but didn't work out.

I do not want a particular boundary condition for the interfaces but rather a free flow condition (which just transfers the fluid from outer region to inner region without any change in direction and magnitude). Does anyone have a suggestion for this? On which boundary condition to use for these interfaces. Also let me know if there is a way to remove the defaultFaces totally.

In the figure attached below, the V shaped region is the refinement region and in the next figure, I have just visualized the defaultFaces to give you an idea of what my interfaces are.

Regards,
Sudharsan.
