Hello all,
I have to create a multiregion-mesh with two regions in sHM. Using the "locationsInMesh" positions, everything works fine. I want to have layers on one region (fluid) but not on the other (solid). Unfortunately I do have shared patches that are next to both fluid and solid region. They get split-up by sHM correctly and after running "splitMeshRegions" both the solid and fluid mesh does contain part of the boundary patch. However, I want to have layers on fluid but not on solid region of the mesh. To do so, I need to grow layers from that part of the patch that is attached to the fluid region, but not that part that is attached to the solid region. Is there any option to restrict layers to certain cell zones/mesh regions in sHM? Otherwise I have to manually split the boundary region before running sHM. This is possible but time-consuming and I expect this to change often. Therefore I am behind an more automatic way. Last edited by bastil; August 29, 2022 at 10:46. |

Ok one (theoretical) way to do, not yet tested:
1. Run sHM, castellate and snap only, no layers 2. splitMeshRegions -cellZones -overwrite 3. snappyHexMesh -region fluid, only layers no castellate and snap |
