Hey.

Im extruding an inlet via extrudeMesh with the "constructFrom mesh;"-option. All I wanna do is extrude a layer in a linearNormal direction and name the new meshvolume with "inlet" so I can give it specific boundary conditions in the simulation. Is there a way to give the new volume a name?

Thanks in advance!

Are you sure you want to do this? One often apply a boundary condition to a face (patch) but not a volume. To define a patch, you can make it in 2 steps below.

step 1. use command topoSet to define a face zone
step 2. use command createPatch to define a patch out of the face zone

Yea sorry, you are right. I need the new faces to be named.
Ok im doing it your way right now. But I hoped for a better way since working with boxToSet is often pretty inaccurate. Am I missing an option like "extrudeToSet" ?

Thanks for your reply!
