Hello all,
First of all, please be advised that I am a beginner in OpenFOAM and I still know nothing about it, so what may seem straight forward to you might not look so for me.
Having said that, I am trying to create a mesh in OpenFOAM using construct2d. I have managed to create the airfoil mesh in that program and used the plot3dfoam and the patch overwrite in OpenFOAM. My system/constant/0 folders are empty as I don't know what to write in them. My aim is just to see the geometry in paraview. what are the files I would need? how to write my boundary conditions? can someone guide me through this please?

I have experimented a little with that issue building meshes with blockMeshDict, I have installed openfoam-dev and OpenFOAM® v2012 in my machine and I found that in order to build a mesh and to be able to watch it in paraview you need the following files and folders in your case directory:

system:controlDict and blockMeshDict
constant: empty
0: you do not need to have this folder

Hey! Thanks for the input. I have been playing around with OpenFoam and reading the CFD direct tutorials, and I managed to get my files in order(after successfully getting my mesh). Now I have played around with the boundary conditions a lot and finally I'm starting to get some results. I want to study the separation flow from a Naca0012 airfoil using a turbulent RAS model(k-epsilon). Then I will move on to other solvers. For the boundary conditions, the patches should be two: 1 to express the wall and 1 to express the physical field/domain(far field), right?

I'm glad you are advancing in your OpenFOAM knowledge!

I'm not familiar with the airfoil problem, it is not in my field, it sounds good to me but perhaps someone else have more knowledge in that field and is willing to guide you in that quest.
