Hi, Foamers
I am trying to generate the mesh for "Ahmed body" LES simulation. However, as attached pictures, after I generated the mesh, the front and the rear slant parts of the ahmed body were crushed even though I adjusted several parameters in snappyHexMeshDict a lot of times. I hope you can give me any comment to fix this problem. Otherwise, if you have a snappyHexMesh file which can generate nicely the mesh for the ahmed body without that problem, and can share it with me, I will appreciate you. Thank you. |

If you want the edges of the surfaces (slant parts) are well meshed, you can try to differentiate each surface, with different names, in the geometry loaded in snappyHexMesh.

Thank you for your comment.
However, unfortunately, I am not able to differentiate an original file for ahmed body, say, xx.stl Do you have a stl file made by each separated part for ahmed body? |

Hi! Can you share your snappyHexMeshDict file? Then it will be easier to help you. |

I have attached a snappyHexMeshDict file.
I will appreciate you if you can take a look at them. Thank you. |

What angle are you using when you extract the feature edges to create your eMesh file? If you lower it, you will extract more edges, which snappy will try to resolve.
Alternatively, you could try cfMesh. See this blog post: https://curiosityfluids.com/2016/09/07/the-ahmed-body/ Cheers. |
