[snappyHexMesh] Generating mesh for existing .stl file

Hi everyone,

My question is related to how can we create a mesh file for the existing .stl file. Basically, I downloaded stl file from the internet and I want to have a mesh file for it on openFOAM. Is it even possible to do that? I'm totally new on openFOAM. Please accept my apologies if my question is so stupid

Hi Askarli,

Yes this is possible, using the snappyHexMesh utility.
Have a look at the user guide here : https://cfd.direct/openfoam/user-gui...h/#x23-1670005

I suggest you to do some tutorials using snappyHexMesh in order to understand how it works before moving on meshing your own geometry.
