I am working on a flow control valve where I am using sixDoFRigidBodyMotion for transient studies along with dynamicFvMesh. However, the smoothing option is not adequate and it fails after some time steps due to high skewness of cells. Is there any option to remesh the domain dynamically to control the mesh quality?

Any update/solution on this? I'm also looking for a remeshing solution.
I thought adaptive mesh refinement governed by local cell size, combined with mesh motion can be a way to do that, but I wasn't able to use AMR along side with dynamic mesh. |

Doesn't high displacement always lead to a bad cell quality not matter what level you have? I assume for large displacements the only "real" solution is overset (Chimera meshes), which is available in the ESI branch of OpenFOAM.

In short, remeshing adds cells, instead of streching existing ones too much, which does not lead to bad cells. Overset has its own disadvantages, too. Therefore, if there is a way to apply remeshing in OF, either directly or even a workaround, I am interested to learn.
