Feature refinement - No progress

Hi all,
I have a problem with the Feature refinement in snappyHexMesh. I have reduced the complexity to the following: - If I want to mesh a simple barrel, everything works fine. - If I want to mesh the same barrel with an additional .stl file for the inlet, everything works fine. - If I want to mesh the same barrel with an .stl file for the outlet instead of the inlet, everything works fine. - However, if I want to mesh the barrel + inlet + outlet, snappyHexMesh stucks during Feature refinement iteration 0 (see attached screenshot). No progress even after many hours of waiting. - If I decrease the length of the barrel by scaling the .stl files in the length direction, everything works fine even for barrel + inlet + outlet. To sum up, I have the issue that snappyHexMesh Feature refinement iteration 0 runs infinitely long, without throwing an error message. The problem is somehow related to the size of the geometry. I hope that someone has a same issue and can help me. Thanks in advance! |
