I'm running foam-extend 4.1 to use the mixingPlane model in a turbomachinery case.
Studying available papers on this i've found two mixingPlane schemes which seem to be available in earlier versions, but are no longer implemented in foam-extend 4.1.

These are:

• fluxAveragingAdjustMassFlow for U
• zeroGradientMatchAverageValue for p

In older foam-extend version these schemes also appear in the fvSchemes files in some tutorials: Link


Does anyone know what happened to it?

Hi Bastian,

I asked Martin Beaudoin back in 2018 the same question and got the following answer:

Those schemes were experimental, and never got publicly released. Since then, my company stopped all development regarding the mixingPlane.

I hope to contribute again to this development on my own spare time, but for now, this is the situation.

Those schemes have sadly not been implemented in any publicly available
version.
