Dear OpenFOAM users
I'm looking to quickly construct (maybe using a script) a PCB for thermal analysis in OpenFOAM. While constructing the simplified CAD and splitting the STL faces is always an option, I wonder if it is possible to do it using searchableSurfaces (as this class contains all the primitive shapes I need for the simplified model). I have previously used searchableSurfaces to set cell value properties within the mesh or to construct baffles; however, I have been researching if it is possible to treat a searchableSurface as an STL-solid in snappyHexMesh (or using any special cellSet to XXXX function) to generate a solid within a fluid domain, with its own boundary conditions, thermophysical properties, and meshing assignments. Thank you all for your support, Regards, Jairo. |

Hello Jairo,
I don't know if I correctly understand your question, but in snappyHexMesh, searchableSurfaces and STL are both geometric entities, so you can use searchableSurfaces the same way you would use a STL file. Regards, Yann |
