Hello OpenFOAM community,
do you know why in OpenFOAM are only first or second order time schemes? is it complicated to implement a 2nd or 3rd order TVD time integration method? The rhoCentralFoam and rhoCentralDyMFoam would gain big advantage in time dependent problems. some cfd-online user had developed a 3rd and 4th order Runge.Kutta scheme, years ago, but I don't understand why their contribution is not integrated in the official OpenFOAM repository. how much afford would it be programming a higher order TVD method in a general way that can be selected for every OpenFoam solver? best regards emjay |
