Hi All!

In using the dam break tutorial, if I turn gravity off, how do I pin the contact line? Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Josh

I might be wrong but if by turning off gravity you mean that you've 'zero-ed' the corresponding direction in 'g' dictionary and by contact line you mean the initial field separation at t_0, then isn't it just a matter of using SetFields initialization and running the solver..?

If it's an error that led you to ask for support then it may be better to post it here.

No, there's no error. Also, yes, I zero 'g' in its dictionary. But no, the contact line is not the phase separation: since dam break is 2D, the contact line would be two contact points, where the phase separation meets the left and bottom wall.

When the contact line is pinned, this implies flow will not creep along or recede on any wall.
