Dear all,
I would like to try to run buoyantPimpleFoam using SpalartAllmarasDDES. I am using OpenFOAM-2.2.0 and when running the program I get the following error message: Selecting LES turbulence model SpalartAllmarasIDDES --> FOAM FATAL ERROR: Unknown LESModel type SpalartAllmarasIDDES Valid LESModel types: 6 ( DeardorffDiffStress Smagorinsky SpalartAllmaras homogeneousDynOneEqEddy lowReOneEqEddy oneEqEddy ) Can someone explain me why the model is not available in my case? |

no idea?
could the problem be coming from the fact that SpalartAllmarasDDES would be implemented for incompressible solvers and not for compressible ones? |

Yeah you are right.
SpalartAllmarasDDES is not available for compressible flows: LES it is implemented only for incompressible flows in OpenFOAM: LES

Hi, Mohsen!
The buoyantPimpleFoam solver can deal with incompressible flows according to this file: http://static.squarespace.com/static...ormat=original at least for version 1.7.x of OpenFOAM. I wonder why it is limited to the ”compressible” turbulence models. You have any ideas? Thanks. palmerlee |
