Hello all,
I am doing an LES of pipe flow with Re = 9000, Re_tau ~ 290. Ub = 9.2 m/s (bulk velocity). The length of the pipe is 0.075 mm (5D). I initialize turbulence with the boxTurb utility in the pipe. An instantaneous slice of the streamwise velocity (Uz) looks as follows: I have ran the flow for close to 100 flow through times. The problem I am facing is that if the Uz is close to 12m/s, the velocities in the x and y directions are not even close to 0 . They are of the order of ~ 0.1 m/s (which I think is very high). A couple of lines in the U file look as follows: Code:
(0.181226 -0.156663 12.6793) (0.163482 -0.150764 12.725) (0.139351 -0.138 12.7241) (0.122271 -0.116882 12.6782) (0.103935 -0.0947453 12.6093) (0.0890593 -0.0778377 12.5303) (0.0756047 -0.0698619 12.4482) (0.0643538 -0.0715184 12.3675) (0.0535757 -0.0788487 12.292) (0.0440606 -0.0932686 12.2244) (0.0355656 -0.111035 12.1673) (0.0291222 -0.135938 12.1208) (0.0238699 -0.165153 12.0835) (0.0194985 -0.198276 12.0552) (0.0157025 -0.236335 12.0359) (0.0102019 -0.275669 12.0264) |
