Dear All,
For the twoPhaseEulerFoam solver, we can see the continuous update in the latest OpenFOAM packages: OF 2.1.x: https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...PhaseEulerFoam OF 2.2.x https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...PhaseEulerFoam OF 2.3.x https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...PhaseEulerFoam The versions in 2.1.x and 2.2.x demonstarte not qualitative difference, however, for 2.3.x, it seems that the source codes have been re-developed. Anybody can why these modifications are made ? So which one is the best ? Please do not directly say the latest is the best. Thank you. OFFO |

Going by memory here, I think the same applies for the interFoam. I can tell your that I noticed an increased stability in the 2.3.x version (i.e. could run on more difficult mesh without crash, and/or run on larger time steps than previously). It is more difficult to follow the code in the new interFoam version but clearly it is more stable. I am only guessing, maybe the OF people did a general overhaul of all the multiphase solvers? Haven’t had time to check this. Wish I had more time...
hope this helps Cheers,... J. |
