solidDisplacementFoam convergence

Any suggestions please, on how to address convergence issues with solidDisplacementFoam?
The solver seems to be blowing-up at the edge of the mesh, in an un-stressed region. Looks like a mesh quality issue at the 4 non-orthogonal cells at the end of the beam. seems to be fixed (converges properly) by changing planeStress back to "yes", in mechanicalProperties file !
