Hello,


After running the motorBike tutorial at 24.587 m/sec (55 mph), I get these forces and moments:

Fx =111.483 _____ Mx= -4.161 (roll moment, apparently the model is asymmetrical)
Fy= 2.649 ________My=48.874 (pitching moment)
Fz= 16.34 ________ Mz= 6.162


Then, using a wheelbase L of 1.42, I find the vertical wheel forces like this:


Fz rear = My/L = 34.42 This assumes +M is clockwise, and +F is down. (The ground reaction would be positive up)


The front vertical force is the total minus the rear:

Fz front = Fz - Fz rear = -18.08


This shows that there is an aerodynamic lift at the front wheel, and a downforce at the rear wheel. It does seem reasonable, in that lower fairing could create a lot of lift. And Moto GP bikes have downforce producing vanes at the front.


Can anyone either verify, or correct me on my assumptions?
