Dear Foamers,

I am solving a porous media problem in OF. I wish to apply CBC at the outlet of my domain. How to do that?
Should I write custom boundary? Any related tutorial?

Hi,

There are two boundary conditions in OpenFOAM:
  • advective
  • wavetransmissive

I hope my blog post will be of help:

Best regards,

When I apply advective condition at the outlet of my domain I get the following error:

--> FOAM FATAL ERROR:
steadyState
on patch outlet of field U in file "/home/anirudh/OpenFOAM/anirudh-4.1/run/CASE_DONT_DEL/RE30/DA6/0/U"

Hi,

The advective boundary condition only supports transient simulations.

Best regards,
Fumiya

Yes. I understood that when I further looked into it. But there are recent upgrades which also support steady state simulations. Although since my outlet was located at distant downstream, the outlet BC is not affecting my results much.

Thanks for the help though.

Peace!

Hi,

Did you manage to apply the advective bc into a steady sate simulation ?
