Still doing unsteady flow past 3D cylinder. Can someone advise how to set initial conditions for LES 3D case?? Or if you could provide any similar tutorial. Much appreciate!

Initial conditions includes: k, nut, nuTilda, p and u (btw, is "s" necessary for LES?

I use:

k: Fixed value 0.1 nearly everywhere, kqRWallFunction at a surface of interest

nut: calculated nearly eveyrwhere, nutkWallFunction at a surface of interest

p: zeroGradient nearly everywhere, a fixed value at one of the patches

I don't need much more for the dynamicKEqn model.

sir, will the initial k and nut significant affect the calculation results?

In any case it influences how fast and stable the simulation starts. But you may try this out for your case.

I always thought that the kqRWallFunction and nutKWallFunction were used only on cases with RAS for turbulence modelling. Is that not true?

So, with these wall functions in place, do you use 30<y+<300 ?
