Hello Foamers,
I am quite new on OF and I have several questions regarding this option. I am doing my master thesis and my final aim is to simulate a stirring tank with rotors inside to optimize the oxygen level in the tank. That is why I naturally get interested by rotorDisk to save computational time. Right now my geometry is quite simple (find attached some pictures). I adapted the files of the tutorial rotorDisk (simpleFoam) to fit to my geometry. But I do not know why my simulations are always giving strange results such as really high velocities even if the rotor seems to have no impact on the flow ... Moreover, my drag/lift force are also reaching non physical values such as 1e51 ... My questions are : - How can I control the thrust of the rotorDisk ? I tried to modify the "trim" model regarding "Development of Virtual Blade Model for Modelling Helicopter Rotor Downwash in OpenFOAM, Stefano Wahono" but it seems outdated ... - Does anyone got a kind of database to find some "typical values" of lookup profiles ? Could be really nice. - Do you think that regarding my geometry and files, I missed something to get a operationnal rotorDisk ? Thanks in advance for your help and sorry for the long post ! Clement P.S : Do not try to understand french commentary on the files, they are only simple reminders. |
