Default Internal Patch Boundary Condition

Good afternoon,

I am currently using Foam Extend, v3.2, to model a turbine. The domain consists of 1/8th of an annulus, with cyclic boundary conditions on either side. This setup has been working well but with new additions I am running into issues.

I have added FSI to the solver, and am having issues where the mesh flexes enough to cause an error with the cyclic BC because the mesh on the two sides is deformed differently and no longer "matches." This results in the case crashing. To combat this, I've added two internal baffles as shown below:

The idea is to enforce a zero displacement condition on the points along the baffle, to prevent the cyclic BC from exploding. However, I'm not sure if there are any standard "boundary conditions" that will allow the fluid to pass through as if the wall weren't there.

Am I missing something obvious? Is there another, easier way to go about this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Kellis

I have not run FSI myself yet but this kind of "fix" should not be necessary.
