roadrunner_22 is on a distinguished road
I tried to model a transient water jet inspired by the archerfish using ILES in OpenFOAM v1806 with MULES and isoAdvector.

I get very high velocities in some cells at the interface which are higher than the biggest inlet velocity (6 m/s). There are also oscillations behind the jet.

I can get rid of those effects by using RANS. But a lot information about the jet shape gets lost. There are also oscillations in my DES case.

It seems that these oscillations get affected by surface tension.

How can I improve my LES results?

Thanks!
