Hello everyone,


I have a problem with one of my boundary conditions. My simulation consist in chamber heated through a duct that inyect hot air. The duct is in a corner of the chamber from the ceiling to the floor.
When i select a boundary condition for the inlet patch and simulate it, i obtain a bad result like in the attached photo that shows the temperature field.

Now, the distance between the domain and the start of the inlet is 0.2 m, but if i change to the point next to the patch, i cant even simulate the problem.
Is there a boundary condition that could help me?
I have tryed with fixedValue and failed, and with flowRateInletVelocity, that gives the attached photo.

Hey,

what boundary conditions are you using in your domain (walls, outlets etc.)? If I understand you correctly, your inlet is placed in the corner, which could be difficult to handle as this results in three inlet patches all orthogonal to each other. Maybe it would be a good idea to (first) define only one of these patches as the inlet (and see if your simulation is running and producing any physical result). In the end, I think it could be more beneficial to construct a mesh which is including a part of the duct leading to the chamber. It should be no problem to then specify the inlet BC for the ducr inlet (but will be a little bit more meshing effort).

The duct has a better view in this image.

The duct is in the y axis with the inlet at 0.2 m from the ceilling of the domain.
I have used boundary conditions of no slip at walls and inletOutlet at outlet in velocity field. In the attached image you could see better the problemin in my inlet. The hot air doesnt follow just the path of the duct, but part of it spread to the chamber.
