This is really strange to be honest. Then there is a problem with BC´s oder Solver for sure (guessing gives the BC´s a bigger impact).

Hi Lewis,
I was trying to set up a pressure-driven flow in a atomization nozzle and faced a similar problem as yours. The thing that worked for my application was using a condition based on the solution proposed by Daniel, changing 'totalPressure' for 'uniformTotalPressure', where I could use a table to gradually increase p0 values and contour rhoSimpleFoam hyper-sensibility. Did you use this BC for inlet and outlet Temperature. Do not forget to change inletValue and value for your case.
