Florian.G is on a distinguished road
Hi Foamers,

I am trying to modelize the phenomenon of stratification of two liquid species. I consider a box in which the species are mixed at time 0, without any incoming or outgoing flow. I would like to observe the separation of the two phases over time, due to gravitation, with the heavier species falling to the bottom of the box. To do so, I use the driftFluxFoam solver.
In my case, the volume fraction of the densest species (alpha.sludge) is 1/3.
By varying the relativeVelocityModel's coefficients, I observe at the beginning of the simulation the stratification phenomenon. But I quickly lose stability :

I tried to reduce the volume fraction (alpha.sludge = 0.00033), the simulation runs correctly :

Any suggestions for improvement ? Maybe I do not use the right solver ?

Thank you in advance,
Regards,
Florian
