Hi everyone,
I have seen a subsection in fvSchemes concerning the interpolation:

interpolationSchemes
{
    default         ;
}

I have a computational domain with a sharp change in viscosity:




Can anyone just tell me what is the contribution of different interpolation methods (linear/harmonic/...) in this field?

Tobias Holzmann has some slides here on interpolation in OpenFOAM. Also he has a handy application here for checking error in convective schemes -- it is not exactly the same as what you want, but may still be useful to compare e.g. linear, upwind.

Thanks for your reply. I know the idea behind the interpolation. I think a better source for knowing the interpolation schemes can be found through this link.

Someone needs to define the interpolation scheme in each divScheme and LaplacianScheme terms, and a general interpolation term in interpolationScheme. I need somebody who has the experience about the harmonic implementation in OF, for properties like viscosity.
