why in implicit solvers CO should be limited to convergence?

Default why in implicit solvers CO should be limited to convergence?

immortality is on a distinguished road
i use rhoCentralFoam that solves navier-stokes equations implicitly.but when i set the courant number greater than .1 or even at some cases .05 divergence ocurs.why this is so?
