Hi,

I found this strange pressure distribution when I was trying to test the ABL consistence in Openfoam.

I thought this is probably caused by my size ratio but I have no idea how to adjust the solver or anything to deal with my current mesh.

Could anyone give me any advice on it?

Many thanks,

Xin

This looks reasonable to me. You will get some peaks in the corners, and obviously some pressure drop through the domain. The important thing with horizontal homogeneity of the ABL is the velocity profile and the turbulent properties, how do they look? What are your boundary conditions on the various patches?

Xin,

As already said by Eric, your pressure looks reasonable.

If you want to check the ABL consistency in Openfoam, what could be done is to plot your streamwise velocity profile along the wall normal direction. These profiles should not change along the streamwise direction. (which is a much more challenging problem)

I hope this will help you

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies. I manage to get a relatively consistent ABL profile based on a modified velocity and kinetic energy profile. The results seem Ok.
