Default Direct numerical simulation of laboratory bubble column

Currently I am simulating laboratory bubble columns (see image below). I would be good if anyone can recommend some references on this field. After google, it looks rare to simulate 3D laboratory bubble columns due to highly computational demanding. There are many works in which dozens bubbles are simulated (see works by Tryggvason), but for bubble columns? not many...
