Hi
Can anybody please tell me how to take the average of velocity or any property across a line in OpenFOAM. The average across a plane can be taken using faceSource function, but how can i take the average across a line. A similar discussion in the forum explains how to get it using paraview using two cutplanes, but is there a way to get it in openfoam. Also if it is possible how can i do it as a runtime post processing? Please help Thanking you |

Yes, it is straightforward. You can use the sample utility (postProcess -func sample) to sample on the line for times you have written output. Then post process in a program of your choice to average the sets of data.
