Hello everyone
I am quite new to CFD and could not find an answer during my research to my modelling problem.
I am trying to model a channel (in the future a river geometry) using the shallowFoam solver from openfoam. I am doing that with the shallow water equations in 2D to save computational time and it should just be an approximation. I want to represent a complicated hydraulic structure in the flow as a porous medium. Does somebody has experience with that or is this possible in Openfoam? Or does somebody has other ideas to have such a sink term for the hydraulic structure in the flow?

Thank you very much in advance
